Fabrication Of A Stainless Steel Reactor

The tanks, vessels, and reactors we produce at Imperial Steel are used by leading manufacturing and chemical processing companies across the US. The project highlighted here is a stainless steel chemical reactor. This reactor is constructed of 316 stainless steel and is coated with heat resistant aluminum paint. The vessels have an inside diameter of 108″ and measures 226″ in length. The reactor was formed and welded according the latest revision of the ASME Section VIII, Division 1 Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.

After the stainless steel vessel was fabricated, a hydrostatic pressure test was performed at 9 psig on the interior of the tank. The interior coil was pre-tested at 430 psig prior to installation, and tested at 180 psi after installation. We can provide engineering, design, fabrication, and inspection services according to all applicable ASME standards and customer specifications. This vessel is designed to be used with a 4″ thick jacket for insulation, which was installed in the field after arrival at the customer’s facility.
