Fabrication Of An Oxidizer

At Imperial Steel we engineer and fabricate custom steel tanks, vessels, and heat exchangers for customers throughout the country. The project highlighted here is an oxidizer that was fabricated using SA516 Grade 70 steel. The large oxidizer has an outside diameter of 144″ and a length of 427″. The vessel is designed to hold 35,978 gallons of water and has an empty weight of 62,800 lbs. Our facility is designed to accommodate all sizes of vessels and equipment to best serve our customers in the chemical, food processing, and petrochemical industries.

Prior to fabrication, an engineering failure analysis was performed to verify the structural integrity of the oxidizer. We have in-house engineering services that allow us to assist customers during the development process. Early collaboration leads to designs that can be efficiently manufactured while meeting all customer specifications.

Once the design was finalized, the steel parts were cut, formed, and welded to customer specifications. Visual and dimensional inspections were performed throughout the fabrication process. The finished oxidizer was painted Rustoleum 4268 Red for added corrosion resistance in its operating environment.
